System requirements

  • OS: Windows 10/11 64-bit, or Windows Server 2019 and newer
  • QuickBooks Pro / Premier (2018+): cached reads plus write operations
  • QuickBooks Enterprise (2018+): cached reads, live reads, and writes
  • Disk: ~100 MB for Syntra itself, plus cache storage (typically 50-500 MB depending on company file size)
  • RAM: Syntra's own footprint is roughly 50 MB. Your machine still needs enough RAM to run Windows and QuickBooks alongside it, which is the real constraint.
  • Network: Port 5433 (configurable)

After downloading

  1. Run the installer and follow the wizard
  2. Launch Syntra ODBC from the Start Menu
  3. Authorize the connection in QuickBooks Desktop
  4. Start querying with SQL. see the quickstart guide

When the 30-day trial ends, the server stops accepting connections until you purchase and enter a license key. Nothing is billed automatically, and your cached data and configuration are preserved.

To uninstall at any time, open Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps, find Syntra ODBC, and choose Uninstall. The same entry is available under Control Panel > Programs and Features.
