Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Tradeline Consulting Inc. processes, why we process it, how long we keep it, who receives it, and the choices available to you.
Effective date: July 14, 2026
1. Controller and scope
Tradeline Consulting Inc. ("Tradeline", "we", "us", or "our") is the controller for personal information collected through syntraodbc.com, its documentation, trial-download workflow, licensing communications, and support.
Contact us at [email protected], +1-647-483-1487, or Tradeline Consulting Inc., Suite 300, 10 Milner Business Court, Toronto, Ontario M1B 3C6, Canada. If we appoint a data-protection officer or an EU representative whose details must be published, this section will be updated.
2. Information, purposes, and legal bases
- Trial download details: name, work email, optional company, request time, and limited campaign identifiers. We use these to provide the requested trial, prevent abuse, support the trial, and measure a campaign only when you allow advertising measurement. The bases are steps requested before a contract, legitimate interests in protecting the service, and consent for advertising measurement.
- Orders and licensing: customer and transaction identifiers, product, plan, status, amount, currency, license status, activation attempts, software version, and machine or device identifiers needed to administer a license. The bases are contract performance, legal obligations, and legitimate interests in fraud and license-abuse prevention.
- Support and sales: your contact details, messages, and any logs, screenshots, configuration, or sample data you intentionally provide. We use them to answer the request and improve support. The bases are contract or pre-contract steps and our legitimate interests in customer support.
- Website and security data: IP address, request time, browser/device information, requested URL, referral source, and security signals processed by our hosting and security providers. The bases are our legitimate interests in delivering, securing, and diagnosing the site.
- Analytics: page views, approximate location, referral source, device/browser information, and Google Analytics identifiers. This processing occurs only after you allow Analytics and is based on consent.
- Advertising measurement: Google Ads click identifiers, campaign parameters, landing page, and conversion identifiers. This processing occurs only after you allow Advertising measurement and is based on consent.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information from this website for solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
3. QuickBooks Desktop and business data
Syntra ODBC Desktop is designed to process QuickBooks Desktop company data on the Windows computer where it is installed. We do not receive company-file contents merely because you install or use the product.
We receive accounting or business data only when you intentionally include it in a support request or authorize a specific troubleshooting activity. Before sending support material, remove access credentials and redact customer, employee, financial, health, or other unnecessary personal information.
4. Cookies and browser storage
Necessary browser storage remembers your privacy choice and supports security or a checkout you request. Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Syntra campaign attribution remain disabled until you opt in to their category.
Use the Privacy choices control at any time to grant or withdraw consent. Withdrawing consent stops future optional processing in this browser and removes the optional first-party identifiers available to the site. See our Cookie Policy for names, purposes, and durations.
5. Payments and other recipients
We disclose only the information reasonably needed for the recipient's function:
- Paddle: checkout, payment, tax, invoicing, subscription administration, refunds, and fraud prevention. Paddle acts as Merchant of Record and also processes buyer information under its own privacy terms.
- Lemon Squeezy: legacy order, subscription, refund, and support records for transactions processed during our previous Lemon Squeezy period.
- Cloudflare: DNS, content delivery, website security, and Turnstile bot protection.
- Google: Analytics and Ads measurement only after the applicable consent.
- Hosting and database providers: website delivery and storage of trial leads and minimized webhook records.
- Email and support providers: delivery and management of correspondence.
- Professional advisers and authorities: where reasonably necessary for legal advice, accounting, insurance, a corporate transaction, or compliance with law.
Payment-card details are entered directly into Paddle's checkout and are not stored by Tradeline.
6. Retention
- Privacy choices stored in this browser: 180 days, unless you clear them sooner.
- Syntra campaign attribution after advertising consent: 90 days.
- Trial download records: 90 days after the request.
- Operational payment-webhook records: up to 400 days; raw webhook payloads are not intentionally retained.
- Transaction, tax, and accounting records: up to seven years where required by law.
- Licensing and customer-account records: for the subscription and normally 24 months afterward, unless a dispute or legal requirement requires longer.
- Support correspondence: normally 24 months after closure, or longer when needed for an ongoing issue or legal claim.
- Website security logs: normally no more than 30 days, unless needed to investigate abuse or an incident.
- Consent-based Google data: according to the settings and retention controls described in the Cookie Policy; we intend Analytics event retention not to exceed 14 months.
We may retain a minimal suppression or transaction record after deletion where necessary to honour an opt-out, prevent fraud, establish legal claims, or meet tax and accounting obligations.
7. International transfers
Tradeline is based in Canada. Some providers may process information in Canada, the United States, the European Economic Area, or other countries. Where GDPR transfer restrictions apply, we rely on an applicable adequacy decision, approved standard contractual clauses, or another lawful safeguard, and assess supplementary measures where required. Contact us to request information about the safeguard relevant to your data.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request:
- access to and a copy of your personal information;
- correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
- deletion of information that no longer has a lawful basis;
- restriction of processing in qualifying circumstances;
- portability of information you provided where the right applies;
- objection to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing; and
- withdrawal of consent at any time, without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Send a request to [email protected]. We may ask for proportionate verification and normally respond within one month where GDPR applies. You may also complain to the data-protection authority where you live or work, or where you believe an infringement occurred. The European Data Protection Board lists EU/EEA authorities.
9. Required and optional information
Name and email are required when you request the gated trial download because we use them to provide and support that request and deter automated abuse. Company is optional. Billing information required by Paddle is necessary to complete a purchase. If required information is not provided, we may be unable to provide the requested download, purchase, license, or support.
10. Security and incidents
We use access controls, encrypted transport, secret-management practices, limited retention, bot protection, signed payment webhooks, and other administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information. No system can be guaranteed completely secure. If a personal-data breach occurs, we will assess risk and provide regulatory or individual notice when required.
11. Children
Syntra ODBC is a business product and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the website.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when our practices, providers, or legal obligations change. Material changes will be identified by a new effective date and additional notice where required.
