Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Tradeline Consulting Inc. collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information in connection with the Syntra ODBC website, downloads, licensing, and support.

Effective date: April 8, 2026

1. Who We Are

Tradeline Consulting Inc. ("Tradeline", "we", "us", or "our") operates Syntra ODBC. This Privacy Policy applies to syntraodbc.com, our documentation, download pages, trial and paid licensing workflows, and related support and business communications.

Syntra ODBC is designed to run primarily on your own Windows machine. Because of that, much of the QuickBooks data processed by the software stays local unless you choose to send information to us for support, diagnostics, licensing, or account management.

2. Information You Provide to Us

We may collect information that you choose to provide, including:

  • Contact details such as name, company name, email address, phone number, and billing address.
  • Account, checkout, and subscription information related to trial requests, purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and tax handling.
  • Messages you send through contact forms, support requests, sales inquiries, feedback, or email.
  • Support materials you choose to send, such as logs, screenshots, SQL queries, configuration snippets, or sample company file data.

3. Information We Collect Automatically

We may automatically collect limited technical and transactional information, including:

  • Website usage data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, referral source, and approximate geolocation derived from IP address.
  • Cookie and analytics data used to measure traffic, diagnose issues, and improve the site, if analytics is enabled on the website.
  • Product and licensing data such as software version, operating system version, installer version, license status, activation attempts, renewal checks, and a device or machine identifier used to validate licensing.
  • Diagnostic data such as error messages, crash reports, and environment details when you enable diagnostics or submit a support case.

4. QuickBooks and Business Data

We do not intentionally collect your QuickBooks company file contents, accounting records, customer lists, invoices, or other business data as part of ordinary software use. Syntra ODBC primarily processes that information locally on your machine.

We may receive limited QuickBooks or business data only if you choose to provide it, including when you:

  • send sample data, screenshots, or logs to support;
  • request troubleshooting that requires configuration or query review; or
  • authorize us to inspect information needed to resolve a licensing, support, or product issue.

Please avoid sending more customer or financial data than necessary. If you need support, redact or anonymize data where practical before sharing it with us.

5. How We Use Information

We may use personal information to:

  • provide the website, downloads, trial access, subscriptions, licensing, renewals, and customer support;
  • process orders, payments, taxes, refunds, and account administration;
  • activate, validate, secure, maintain, and improve Syntra ODBC;
  • communicate with you about support issues, releases, billing, service changes, and documentation;
  • detect fraud, misuse, unauthorized access, license abuse, and security incidents;
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements; and
  • analyze usage trends so we can improve the site, product, and support experience.

6. Legal Bases

Depending on your location, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • performance of a contract, such as providing a trial, paid license, renewal, or support service;
  • our legitimate interests in running and improving the business, securing our systems, and preventing misuse;
  • your consent, where consent is required by law; and
  • compliance with legal obligations.

7. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information in exchange for money. We may disclose information to:

  • payment, subscription, tax, and licensing providers, such as Lemon Squeezy and Stripe, to process orders and manage subscriptions;
  • hosting, infrastructure, security, email, analytics, and customer support providers that help us operate the website and service;
  • professional advisors, auditors, insurers, or potential acquirers in connection with business operations or a corporate transaction;
  • law enforcement, regulators, courts, or other parties when disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or property; and
  • other parties at your direction or with your consent.

Payment card details are generally processed directly by our payment providers and not stored by us, except for limited transaction metadata made available to us for billing and support.

8. Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain licensing and transaction records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, meet legal obligations, and improve support. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the purpose for which it was collected.

Support logs and diagnostic materials may be deleted sooner when they are no longer needed. Billing and licensing records may be retained longer to satisfy tax, accounting, fraud prevention, and contractual obligations.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for safeguarding your own systems, devices, backups, credentials, and any data you choose to transmit to us.

10. International Transfers

We are based in Ontario, Canada, and our service providers may process information in Canada, the United States, or other jurisdictions. Those jurisdictions may have different privacy laws than your home jurisdiction. Where required, we take reasonable steps to use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

11. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • request access to personal information we hold about you;
  • request correction of inaccurate information;
  • request deletion of certain information, subject to legal and contractual limits;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
  • object to or restrict certain processing; and
  • opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link or contacting us.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings. If you disable cookies or similar tools, some website features may not function as intended.

12. Children's Privacy

Syntra ODBC is intended for business and professional use. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we may post a notice on the website, update the effective date above, or provide additional notice when required by law. Your continued use of the website or software after an updated policy becomes effective means the updated policy will apply to future interactions, subject to applicable law.
